recovery time of wounds and can heal most minor wounds. But the worse the

Effects of a major healing can range from massive headaches that can knock
Alex flat to her passing out. Her worst was when she tried to heal massive
blood loss, the headache knocked her flat for a good 3 days.

healer for minor wounds only), Dance Company (hip hop), Dragon Racing,

Build: Skinny but with some curves so not a stick. Plus she could
easily kick butt on a hockey rink or in Blitzball.

Alex looks like a girl more at home in a hockey rink when not in classes.
She dresses for ease via jeans and her growing collection of concert tees
unless its for blitzball, that's when her wetsuit comes into the mix. But
Alex can also dress up and be pretty, but with her unique twist always
attached. For Casino Royal she wore a nice red and black dress but with
boots instead of heels as one example. As for her hair it ranges from
ponytails to nice waves depending on the event.

She moves like she's on speed at times, her camera always along for the
ride. Its even worse when it comes to hockey and blitzball, but that is when
its actually a good thing.

Otherwise Alex has dark brown hair unless she gets bored and adds the red
highlights via wash out dye and green eyes. She is also unaware of how
pretty she actually is. Her keystone is usually wore on a chain next to her
protection stone from her twin brothers. Beyond her chain and small earrings
she wears a funky divers watch she found while visiting her brothers in
Seattle last year. As for scars she has a small pair on her wrists from the
night her powers popped into the picture along with various minor wounds
from sports.

Strengths: Killer smile, fast wit, mean with a hockey stick, good
listener, understanding towards others, kindhearted and sweet natured, great
sense of humor.
Weaknesses: Panic attacks anyone? Prone to moments of wild emotion
and can't see her own beauty (but she's working on that), can embrace her
jock side a little too much at times (mostly in clothing), curses when
stressed (usually in Japanese), is scared of her mage ability, the effects
of healing a nasty wound.
Weird Quirks: Ports home to Vancouver for every home hockey game
during the season, has never missed a weekend chat with her brothers and
will port over to visit every so often, her band tees seem to be of bands
not many have heard of mixed with bands from the 80's, wears an Army surplus
peacoat in the winter, quotes song lyrics at random times, can't stand the
sight or smell of cooked carrots.
Secrets The power meltdown last winter: caused by her having a rare
panic attack when she was locked in a closet by accident. Alex has also been
nursing plenty of doubts about herself given recent events.
Likes: Hockey, Blitzball, loud music, cold weather, Supernatural (the
tv show), reading, action movies, anime, science fiction, dogs, her cat,
family and great friends, being near water.
Dislikes: Cooked carrots, rude people, people that trigger power
meltdowns, the fact she has panic attacks (has been seeing Hewer on an as
needed basis since things seem to be in check),the after effects of healing
a nasty wound.

Alex has every reason to be scared of her ability as a witch: she could
easily kill someone if a healing ever goes wrong. Ever since the accident
that killed her friend and triggered her powers Alex has changed in so many
ways: on the outside she's still the same girl that lives for hockey season
and new epsiodes of Supernatural. But on the inside she's grown more
fearful: of herself and her healing ability.

The panic attacks started within a few weeks of the accident. At the time
Alex's family figured it was just a bad reaction to the loss of a close
friend. But after Alex's powers came out via her healing a cut on her hand
from broken glass (tossed in a grief induced fit of rage) she saw how much
of a monster she had become. In fear she spent the next 2 days in the family
attic: only coming down when she came down with a nasty cold. The letter
from Idris made Alex see she would be among others like her so she decided
to enroll. But being the lone mage that could heal also made things ten
times harder. That is where the side effects come into play: after healing
nasty wounds Alex has been dealt everything from massive headaches to
passing out and ending up in the nurses office. The sessions with Hewer
started the first time she had an attack at Idris and it caused her to burst
open an old cut on her shoulder: causing a fair amount of blood loss. But
now in her 5th year she's been able to cut sessions to once a month at most.

But one thing that has been helping Alex face both her powers and her
somewhat off people skills: Blitzball. When she was told it was basically
hockey but underwater she was sold and joined the Zebul house team (easily
moving to goalie this year).

Beyond sports and the camera Alex is a work in progress. As a healer she can
do some great things but there is always that scared little voice that lurks
under the tough girl surface.

history

Languages: English, Fluent French, has been teaching herself Japanese
and Latin (mostly to translate spells from Supernatural for fun).

Siblings: Older twin brothers James and Oliver Bristow (23 and living

Other Family: Various family in both Canada and the states, most are
mundie but she has a feeling there are a few more that are magical. She has
a cat at Idris named Winchester (a friendly mixed breed) and 2 dogs back in
Vancouver.

Alexandra Bristow grew up as normal a kid as can be: calling both Vancouver
and Seattle home. She grew up loving hockey and plays Goalie on a friend's
team when home on vacations and long weekends. But everything changed after
she turned 13.

What happened? She had just lost one of her hockey world best friends to a
car accident and in the process cut herself by accident on a broken plate
(to be honest she threw the plate in a fit of grief induced rage). In the
process she somehow healed the wound and stopped the bleeding from her hand.
She freaked out so badly she ended up spending the next 2 days in the attic,
only coming out after getting sick from a mix of her own emotions and
catching a nasty cold. At the time her family figured it was just Alex
having an emotional aftershock to the loss of her friend, but the fact she
had somehow healed her hand was curious.

A few weeks after the accident was when the letter from Idris arrived, it
filled in some blanks but caused more questions. But unlike some witches Alex
only has the support of her family behind her.

She came to Idris almost 3 months after the accident and is slowly getting
control of her powers. The panic attacks started a few months later and
she's been seeing Hewer on an as needed basis. At first it was at least once
a week but now she's down to a session a month, mostly to make sure she's
doing ok.

But even now she's had a couple of very close calls: the most recent being
last winter after her emotions just got the better of her post panic attack.
But with plenty of support she's getting back to where she was. Her
protection stone is a gift from James and Oliver, their way of being there
even from afar.

Within Idris Alex has quickly become the go to girl for anything related to
hockey and fell in love with Blitzball along the way. But recent events have
triggered plenty of old doubts along with new questions for the life mage.
